Updated Skincare Routine 2017

I usually get questions about my skin and skincare products. A lot has changed since my 2016 skincare routine post. It’s only fair I provide you ladies (and gentlemen) with an updated skincare routine.

Morning Routine

Step 1- Cleanse

Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser– I will never cheat on my O.G. cleanser anymore. Other products just do not give me the same results.

Step 2- Tone

Another O.G. product is my Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner. I have oily skin but products with alcohol dry out and irritate my skin after a while.

Step 3- Treat

Any unsightly pimple gets a dose of Clearasil Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream. This has 10% benzoyl peroxide for maximum effectiveness.

Step 4- Eye Cream

As a preventative measure, I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream.

Step 4- Moisturiser

Changing moisturisers is a big deal for me. I have been using Garnier Clearly Brighter Anti-Sun Damage Daily Moisturiser for a few months and I LOVE IT.

Night Routine

Step 1- Cleanse

I use the same Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser as I do on mornings.

Step 2- Tone

Big changes here! I use diluted Apple Cider Vinegar (1 part) and water (3 parts) with a few drops of lavender oil.

Step 3- Treat

Clearasil Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream is used as needed for pimples. I spot treat discoloration with Ambi Fade Cream.

Step 4- Eye Cream

The same Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream is used but I top it with pure vitamin E oil.

Step 5- Moisturiser

I created a custom night cream using St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen & Elastin Facial Moisturizer, Sweet Almond oil, Vitamin E oil, and Lavender oil to it. This has been last year’s best discovery.

I also add a few drops of sweet almond oil after the night cream has absorbed.

I then top it off with the Freeman Beauty Sleeping Mask.

Exfoliation

I exfoliate manually two or three times a week with Queen Helene Scrubs (Mint Julep, Cocoa Butter, and Pomegranate and Raspberry)

A cleansing brush is also part of my routine. I use the Global Beauty Care Facial Cleansing Power Brush mainly on days I wear makeup.

Masks

I use masks three times a week. My choice really depends on how my skin looks and feels.

I had quite a few masks in rotation in 2016. My collection has since grown. My new favourites are the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask, the Garnier SkinActive Clean+ Pore Purifying 2-in-1 Clay Cleanser/ Mask  and the Freeman Beauty Diamond Rinse Mask.

I add two charcoal capsules to my peel off masks to get rid of whiteheads.

My skin feels softer and is much more radiant with this updated routine. What are some of your skincare goals for 2017?
