Most makeup junkies have heaps of products- some of which are barely used. I am guilty of this as well. We are constantly bombarded with new products and impulse buying is an ever too real epidemic. However, no matter what my makeup collection looks like there are some products that I cannot (and will not) live without.
- Mac Eye Brows- Stud
Pencil has always been my preferred product when it comes to doing my brows. They never look overdone when I use my Mac pencil in Stud. This is the perfect colour and texture brow pencil for me and the fine tip allows me to do hair-like strokes with ease.
- Mac Studio Finish Concealer- NC 45
This is the only product I use to ‘clean up’ my brows and perfect my arch. I simply refuse to use anything else. This concealer is opaque, creamy and easy to blend. NC45 is also the perfect shade to prevent that ‘halo brow’ look that I despise.
- Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara- Very Black
I rarely wear false lashes but people always think I do when I wear this mascara. It is my everyday mascara for basic looks. I also layer it with other mascaras when I want an extra dramatic effect.
- Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combo/Oily Skin Makeup- Caramel
Revlon Colorstay gives amazing coverage at an affordable cost. This foundation is waterproof, longwearing, and gives a nice matte finish. It is also the only foundation that matches my skin tone without any mixing or alteration. I can’t imagine my life without it.
5. Nude Lipstick- Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes- Touch of Spice
This is one of the many nude lipsticks in my collection. This is the perfect pinkish nude for my Caramel/NC50 skin tone. I find myself reaching for this much more than any other nude lipstick. The formula is amazing as well since it does leave my lips moisturized. It is also very long-wearing for a non-liquid matte lipstick
- Red Lipstick- Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes- Siren in Scarlett
The perfect red lipstick is a staple in any makeup collection. Siren in Scarlett is an amazing blue-toned, creamy, intensely pigmented red lipstick. No bleeding or feathering occurs when I wear this product. It is really the perfect red for my skin tone.
- Maybelline Master Hi-Light Highlighting Bronzer in Deep Bronze
I have been using this bronzer for quite a while. Last year while packing for a trip it fell and shattered on my carpet. It broke my heart lol. I had to repurchase immediately. I use this for bronzing and highlighting. I love the luminous sheen that I get when I highlight with this product. What I love the most is that the mozaic gives you options. You can either use each colour separately with a smaller brush for highlighting smaller areas or the full mozaic for bronzing.
8. Sacha Cosmetics Blush- Matte Brown
This product makes the illusion of cheekbones possible. This is the perfect powder contour shade on my NC50 complexion. It creates the ideal shadow to sculpt my face. This blush is very pigmented so a little definitely goes a long way.
- Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder
Sacha’s Buttercup powder is worth the hype for me. My opinion hasn’t changed since I reviewed it. It is the only product I use to set my under eye concealer. It really works for me. I also started to use it at times to set my foundation and it does a decent job.
- Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural- Deep
This is my holy grail face powder. It makes skin look like skin. This finely milled powder is gorgeous as it adds a subtle luminous glow to my skin. Buffing MSF natural gives the most amazing look and I really cannot live without it. I take this powder everywhere with me!!!
I think I covered most of my makeup essentials on this list. What are some of the products on your ‘must have’ list?
Great tips Christa!!! Loving the structure and content as well as the photos and graphic layout !!!Now I begin to wonder which Revlon Colourstay would match my complexion ?!
Thanks for the feedback!!! You can go into Pennywise to test the shades. Make sure to walk outside in natural light to ensure that you get a perfect match.
Great post. I haven’t tried the Maybelline bronzer or lipsticks but I’m in full agreement will all the others. All great products!
Thanks Rhea!!! Glad you like it 🙂
